Prateek K Gupta, MD, FACS, is a surgeon with board certification in vascular surgery from the American Board of Surgery. He specializes in limb preservation and he sees patients from Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas at Vascular and Vein Institute of the South. Appointments are available in Germantown, Tennessee, and Senatobia and Oxford, Mississippi.

Dr. Gupta completed his fellowship in Vascular Surgery at the University of Wisconsin where he received extensive training in both endovascular procedures and open vascular surgery. He practices patient-centered care, and his treatment planning begins with an integrated approach between patients and the entire medical care team. He has also been actively involved in research with more than 50 peer-reviewed publications and has written several book chapters, including efforts which are represented in American Heart Association guidelines. He has also taught and trained physicians around the country on endovascular techniques for limb preservation.

He specializes in:

  • Highly specialized expertise in limb preservation, including patients seeking a second opinion after being told that amputation is their only option. Performs complex revascularization utilizing outpatient, minimally invasive endovascular plaque removal/de-bulking devices and technology, stents, balloons and pedal access – and open surgical bypasses resulting in saving both limbs and lives.
  • Aortic aneurysm stent and open repair, especially percutaneous (<1cm incision) stent repair of aneurysms.
  • Carotid stents and endarterectomies for patients with carotid disease
  • Venous ablation for varicose veins and ulcers
  • Dialysis access creation and maintenance
  • IVC filter placement and pulmonary thrombectomy for blood clots.
